Get ready for an unforgettable adventure as we take you on a scenic journey through the heart of Antigua! Trust us You will not miss your ship. For cruise ship & hotel passengers. Our tour kicks off with a drive through the vibrant city of St. John’s, where we’ll pass by the majestic Holy Family Catholic Cathedral, perched atop a dormant volcano—an awe-inspiring sight steeped in history. We’ll then glide past Country Pond, where our ancestors once gathered water, before stopping at the iconic Prime Minister’s office and Parliament building. From there, we’ll head along Factory Road, passing by American Road and the main police headquarters, all while soaking in Antigua’s rich history & culture.

Next, glimpse the impressive residence of Sir Rodney Williams, our Governor general house, from All Saints Road. Continuing our journey, we’ll dive into the story of All Saints Village, renowned for its pottery and as the birthplace of Antigua’s national dish, fungi and saltfish. Moving on, we’ll arrive at Liberta Village, historically as the first to receive the news of Antigua’s freedom from slavery. The name “Liberta” itself is a nod to liberty & freedom powerful reminders of the island’s history.

Explore churches that are up to 500 years old, built from natural limestone that changes hues with the seasons. We’ll pass by St. Paul’s Anglican Church, which once served as both a courthouse and a place of worship in the 1600s—a remarkable piece of history!

We then visit the legendary Nelson’s Dockyard, discovered by English sailor Horatio Nelson, now a thriving tourist hub with incredible stories to tell. Enjoy panoramic views of Clarence House, where Princess Margaret spent her honeymoon, and be sure to visit Shirley Heights, where you’ll be captivated by breathtaking views and rich history. A stop at the historic Block House offers the chance to admire the distant home of the famous Eric Clapton.

Immerse Antigua’s vibrant culture at the Interpretation Center, where interactive exhibits bring the island’s past to life through captivating clips and performances. Afterwards, unwind at Pigeon Point Beach, where you’ll have 35 minutes swim.

Our tour continues with a visit to Sir Vivian Richards Stadium, (If the cricket ground is closed we will drive around it and stop for photos.) we’ll dive into the legacy of one of the greatest cricketer of all time. As an Antiguan national hero, his contribution to the West Indies cricket team helped put our island on the global map.

Before heading back to St. John’s, we’ll stop to explore more, including the remains of the old sugar factory. Antigua’s sugar plantations were once privately owned, and we’ll share the fascinating story of how this all changed by the 1930s. By 1972, sugar production ceased, but its legacy still lives on.

This excursion offers a rich exploration of Antigua's heritage, showcasing its unique traits, culture, and traditions. Highlights of the tour include visits to:

- The Local Museum: Discover artifacts and exhibits that tell the story of Antigua's past.
- The Anglican Cathedral: Marvel at this nearly 400-year-old structure, built atop a dormant volcano.
- Heroes Park: (sightseeing)- A tribute to the nation's heroes, perfect for reflection and appreciation.

- Antigua Recreation Ground: (sightseeing)- Once the main stadium, now a vibrant park used for festivals and football matches.

- The 1735 Prison: (sightseeing) -Learn about its historical significance as we explore this landmark.

- Fire Station, High Court, Prime Minister's Office, and Parliament:( sightseeing) - Gain insight into the island's governance and public services.

We will also visit the old sugar factory, a poignant reminder of the island's history during the era of slavery (stop for sightseeing). Guests will have the opportunity to stop at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium optionally (sightseeing / visit), where we will discuss the legendary cricketer's contributions to the sport and his impact on Antigua and the West Indies.

Next, we will explore the historic English family farm and visit Betty's Hope Sugar Plantation (visit /stop), home to the only operational sugar mill on the island (entrance fee included).

Our journey continues to Devil's Bridge, for a (visit /stop) a site steeped in history where our ancestors reportedly sought to return their souls to Africa.

After this significant stop, guests may opt to enjoy a swim at Long Bay Beach (visit /stop), known for its excellent snorkeling opportunities. Facilities such as restrooms, a bar, and a restaurant are available on-site for your convenience.

Following this enriching experience, guests will return to St. John's, taking with them lasting memories of Antigua's vibrant history and culture. Please take your photos and sightseeing and visit stops we only live once your photos are your memory.
